Founding Partner

My role at Students First Consulting focuses on client service delivery, and I work hand-in-hand with scholarship staff and leaders to transform programs from broken, disjointed, harmful efforts to those that create true change for students. I also lead our practice around mitigating scholarship displacement through use of 529 educational savings plans. 

This work is incredibly important to me, driven by a deep-seated belief that we must support students who need help persisting, graduating, and securing meaningful, family-sustaining jobs. This passion has fueled my career, including a decade devoted to transforming my own community foundation’s scholarship program from a disconnected, siloed administrative burden into a leading-edge program integrated with related grantmaking strategies. My early-career work in numerous higher education roles taught me the critical touchpoints where students succeed or falter. All of this has underscored my belief that strategic, student-centered program design is nonnegotiable–and possible.

My work at Students First Consulting involves overseeing our internal operations and contributing to client service delivery, especially in the practical implementation of best-practice daily administration. I love diving into programs’ intricacies, like conducting a thorough fund audit or meticulously analyzing workflows. My ultimate goal is to empower scholarship providers to be exceptional stewards of their resources, maximizing both their reach and impact.

I’m an activist through and through, especially when it comes to supporting students’ needs. My first scholarship job left a profound impression on me and continues to motivate my work, as it so clearly showed me the immense value of scholarship support. It’s not just money—it’s a loud-and-clear signal to students that we care and believe in their potential, so much so that we’re investing in their futures. I was honored to manage scholarship funds and donor relationships at my community foundation, streamlining every process I could and leading key technology upgrades. Earlier in my career, various student-facing roles, such as leading a student group for sexual assault survivor advocacy and researching college food insecurity, provided crucial insights. Every one of these experiences reinforced my conviction that the only way to truly help students succeed is through thoughtful, strategic programs that put their needs first and foremost.

This mission is deeply personal for me. As a first-generation, low-income college student, I know firsthand the profound difference scholarships and higher education supports can make in breaking cycles of generational poverty. At Students First Consulting, we’re dedicated to empowering our clients to build and grow scholarship programs that truly change lives.

Administrative Assistant

My role centers on supporting the firm’s client and external communications, along with project management and general operations.

As a current student and adult learner, the work of Students First Consulting, especially its dogged focus on student-centric supports, is deeply important to me. My background in public service law and nonprofit work, including at a community foundation, has given me valuable experience in community-focused initiatives and honing my skills and abilities. I'm excited to support the team in creating change for organizations, donors, and the students they serve.
